  • Blockade Block Parties With Versare Portable Barricades

    Product Information
Every year the Borough Block Party is a popular gathering of food, drinks and live music in the North Loop of Minneapolis. As with any large event, crowd control is always an issue. Celebrating its fourth year in August, the Borough Block Party worked with Versare to utilize their portable steel barricades to control lines and overcrowding throughout the neighborhood event. The barricade system was placed at the entry point of the event and around the main stage. This provided an easy-to-work with entrance area where participants could form organized lines and created space for security and stage workers and performers around the stage during musical performances. These portable, collapsible barricades are made of 8’ steel and available in six different colors: black, silver, yellow, red, orange, and blue. For the Borough Block Party, the black powdercoat option provided subtle organization to the wild, artistic environment of the neighborhood festival. The North Loop is known for its artistic entertainment and variety of unique shops and restaurants. When it comes to large public events and crowd control, Versare’s steel barricades are the perfect choice for their functionality, affordability and portability. In addition, these portable barricades are lightweight enough to be quickly relocated between indoor or outdoor event spaces, parking lots, and concerts. If an event has varying sizes of space and activity, the steel barricades can be linked together and the feet can be folded or removed for easy storage. Some additional uses for Versare’s steel barricades include traffic safety gates, construction zone barricades and street/bicycle race barricades. Check out Versare's full range of portable barricades and security gates to control crowds indoors or outdoors.

  • Creating Instant Acoustic Walls Quickly and Affordably

    Product Information
Versare recently completed a project where a theater was temporarily converted into six separate rooms. Each room was required to be set-up to accommodate both an audience and a public speaker, with acoustic walls separating space and controlling sound. The main issue was being able to provide a product that was portable, allowing the space to be re-converted into a theater at will, and effectively dampening the sound of the individual speakers from the other five adjacent rooms. Given that the ceiling height was 12’ high, this created a complex problem for a portable wall system, since accommodating high ceiling areas often require our semi-permanent wall-mounted partition systems. Our solution was to combine two of or products, the Room Divider 360, which is a mobile folding divider, and our ceiling-hung Sound Stone acoustic panels. This combination provided a floor-to-ceiling sound-dampening solution, while providing the flexibility of convertible space. The ceiling-hung Sound Stones acoustic panels hung vertically from the ceiling and provided 4' of coverage. Hanging in this fashion allowed them to act as effective alternatives to acoustic walls when the 7'6" Room Divider 360s were placed directly underneath. This combination provided effective and affordable floor-to-ceiling sound control. Most importantly, this particular acoustic wall arrangement provided flexibility and portability not found in large, track-mounted accordion door solutions. Opening, closing, and storing the room dividers is a cinch, so converting the theater space only takes minutes. Check out our full range of acoustic panels and see how they compliment our room dividers and portable partitions.

  • Partition Panel Styles Explained

    Product Information
When choosing a room divider, the first thing that comes to mind might be size, portability, and ease-of-use. However, most people probably don’t think about the most important aspect of a room partition: panel material. The panel material affects the sound reduction levels, vibration / shock absorbency, flexibility, mobility, and a variety of other key features that separate a high-quality room divider from an average one. No two materials are the same, and when searching for your next space divider for your office, warehouse, or personal room, you’ll want to be familiar with the benefits and differences of the four most common options Versare offers. Acoustical Fabric Panels Available in over twenty colors, pushpin-accepting Acoustical Fabric is by far our most popular panel choice. This partition panel style uses a sound-absorbing honeycomb core surrounded by two outer layers of fiberglass. The core and fiberglass are covered in FR701 Acoustical Fabric, which is 100% polyester high-performance fabric. This panel option is also rated Class A firesafe and passes E84 fire tests. Versare StraightWall featuring acoustical fabric panels Our Acoustical Fabric is incredibly durable and what you would find around speaker grills and in areas that require site and sound control. Offering superior noise-dampening, these acoustical partition panels are rated 0.50 NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient). Enclose workstations with sound-dampening acoustical fabric panels Polycarbonate Panels Polycarbonate plastic materials are known for withstanding temperature ranges from -40°F to +240°F. This is a result of their thermoplastic makeup that land polycarbonate panels among the toughest types of partitions available. These durable partition panels are made up of 18mm of fluted polycarbonate 2700 (g/M^2) which is ideal for high use, outdoors, machining areas, and places with a versatile environment. Polycarbonate partition panels offer a variety of translucencies If the area also has a high noise influx, the polycarbonate material will provide a sound reduction of 20 DB. In addition, polycarbonate materials have a high resistance to heat and cold, containing a flammability classification ASTM-E-84 Class A. Wall-Mounted Polycarbonate StraightWall in opaque Opal Woodgrain Laminate Panels Laminate partition panels are comprised of the same honeycomb core construction as our acoustical fabric partitions, but with a smooth, durable laminate exterior layer. Our laminate panels are available in several shades of faux woodgrain, giving these partitions a very unique and modern look. The laminate exterior is waterproof and spray-cleanable. Our Room Divider 360 in Natural Cherry Woodgrain Laminate Ribbed Acoustical Fabric (VersiPanel, VersiFold series) Ribbed acoustical fabric is made up of a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) foam core, with excellent sound-dampening qualities and an NRC rating of 0.65. LDPE has a long list of valuable features including durability and flexibility, as well as being resistant to water, shock, UV, and vibration. Our VersiPanel and VersiFold partitions exclusively offer this panel material. The ideal place for ribbed acoustic panels are areas that require more sound control than site control such as office work areas, home recording studios, portable classrooms and temporary meeting rooms. If you have questions about which type of panel fabric is best for your needs and space, ask one of Versare’s experts, we’re here to help you!

  • Feel the Vibrations: Controlling Sound and Acoustics

    Product Information
Excess room noise is a common issue among commercial buildings and open modern spaces. Whether you’re standing in a church, a business or a warehouse, unwanted noises can affect the purpose of the space or even the productivity of your employees. A popular solution to eliminating this noise is by controlling the acoustics within the building. The easiest way to do this is to understand the science behind unwanted noise, how it’s produced, and what materials help control it. When we hear sounds, our eardrums are vibrating as a result of sound energy that is in the air. The sound energy is called sound waves, and they can result in pleasant or annoying sounds. Unwanted sounds are referred to as noise. When it comes to the types of noises we typically hear inside buildings, they are a result of two types of sound paths; airborne-sound and structure-borne sound. Airborne sound is noise that radiates directly into the air, such as voices, machinery, and office equipment, while structure-borne sound travels directly through solid building materials such as footsteps, plumbing, and opening / closing doors. In commercial spaces where there are lots of people and activity, these noises cannot be avoided. Unfortunately, interior buildings are often made out of a variety of materials which are usually selected based on their aesthetic appeal and not their noise-dampening functions. The best solution to controlling sound within buildings are acoustical sound panels which can be utilized to not only control unwanted sound, but be a decorative addition to a building. The ideal acoustic panel is one that will not interfere with the acoustical infill or substrate. A fabric covered panel is best for absorbing unwanted noises, and using Versare’s Sound Stone (Wall) Acoustic Panels provides the option to choose among a variety of colors to fit in with the building’s decor. Versare’s Sound Stone Acoustic Panels contain three layers of sound-dampening materials; the first layer is a durable FR701 acoustical fabric, the second layer is comprised of 100% recyclable 2000 gram density nonwoven polyester and the third layer is a rigid mineral board honeycomb, which acts as a sound trap. These three layers are bonded tightly together to provide a heightened acoustical absorption that eliminates unwanted airborne and structure-borne noises. If you have questions about controlling sound within your space, our experts are here to provide you with the best solutions available. Call us today: 800-830-0210.

  • Ditch the Track: Accordion Doors Vs Operable Walls

    Product Information
The need to divide large room space is common in pretty much every industry, so naturally, a large variety of space-saving solutions exists. Accordion doors (or track-mounted door systems) are a classic method of controlling space by hanging suspended from an overhead track on the ceiling. Accordion walls expand and collapse in a folding fashion, hence the name. Versare's Operable Wall is a wall-mounted, floor-based partition, with both accordion (folding) or telescoping (sliding) panel options. This wall-mounted system requires no track and provides a perfect solution for spaces requiring up to 12' high coverage. The Operable Wall is a low-cost alternative to expensive track-mounted Accordion Wall systems, or perfect for areas that can't accept a track system. Track-mounted accordion doors are costly and dated. Generally, both accordion doors and Operable Walls are added to existing spaces. In most cases it’s difficult to add a track to support an accordion door setup. The Operable Wall relies only on the floor and wall for support. Also, when adding a ceiling track for an accordion door, it may be necessary to have a building permit, or engineering support to ensure the ceiling can safely accommodate a track. Also, when installing a track for the Accordion Wall, this divides the ceiling space, which often requires an assessment for proper fire sprinkler and HVAC coverage. Versare's Operable Wall requires no ceiling track. Versare’s Operable Wall relies on a wall-mounted system which eliminates the issues associated with track-mounted systems. This product is considered FF&E, furniture fixture and equipment, so does not require permits, engineering, or HVAC assessments. The unique wall mounting bracket enables the collapsed panel system to rotate and tuck neatly against the wall. Unlike accordion doors, no built-in enclosure is required. Versare's wall-mounted partitions collapsed Basically, Versare’s wall-mounted room dividers offer an effective and cost-efficient solution to save money while dividing your space when heights of up to 12’ are necessary. Unlike complex track-mounted accordion door systems, this space-saving product installs easily, is made in the USA, and is readily available for immediate shipment.

  • Church Dividers Provide Instant Classroom Spaces

    Customer Testimonials Product Information
Folks often come to Versare in search of truly versatile room dividers that can accommodate a variety of room shapes. Not every space is a perfect square, so a more creative approach is often required. The Room Divider 360, for example, features our patented 360° rotating hinges, providing a full range of rotation to each panel. This kind of arrangement flexibility allows a number of setup options that other partitions on the market simply can't offer. The San Martin de Porres Church of Albuquerque, NM was looking for a creative solution to sectioning off a common area into Sunday school classes for different age groups. Members were seeking church room dividers that could reduce sound, provide portability (to be removed from the area for religious ceremonies), and preserve the ambience and aesthetics of the space. Our solution was the Room Divider 360. Its unique hinge system allows for a perfect fit in odd spaces, like the church space's half-oval. For the panel material, our noise-dampening acoustic fabric in Rye was chosen to control acoustics and match the interior of the church space. • Breaking Waves: Sound-Dampening Partitions Demystified

    Product Information
In addition to creating visual privacy, our sound-dampening partitions offer enhanced acoustic control. There are ways of measuring the acoustical control of a partition, but it can be innitially difficult to understand. Acronyms like NRC and STC may have you thinking things like WTF, but relax - we've created a quick guide to help you better understand acoustics and how our sound-dampening partitions work. It’s time to break down some barriers (metaphorically speaking, of course) and explain what those letters mean, along with the difference between sound blocking and sound absorption. Sound Transmission Class (STC) Sound Transmission Class, or STC, measures how much sound a partition blocks. Unlike your cholesterol or putt putt score, a higher number is usually better when it comes to STC. Sound Transmission Class gives a general idea of how much sound a partition can stop, and it’s the most common sound reduction measurement. However, it cannot be completely relied upon because the human ear responds more to certain frequencies than others. Dampen sound frequencies like your coworker's humming of Lady Gaga tunes Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) Noise Reduction Coefficient, or NRC, measures how much sound a partition absorbs. NRC is used to gauge partitions that are created to absorb (not block) sound. The NRC rating for sound absorbing partitions ranges from 0 (perfectly reflective) to 1 (perfectly absorptive). Think of NRC as the percentage of sound waves that come into contact with the partition without being reflected back (Ex: NRC of .2=20%). NRC ratings depend on a number of variables, like wall conditions and ceiling height.NRC vs. STC You’ve probably gathered by now that the main difference between NRC and STC is that STC gauges materials that block sound, while NRC gauges materials that absorb sound. Versare’s dynamic line of portable partitions includes materials that absorb and block sound. Partitions with dense cores—such as our polycarbonate cores—block sound (high STC rating), while those with lower density cores—like our honeycomb/fiberglass combinations—absorb sound (high NRC rating). Acoustical fabric vs reflective polycarbonate Still feeling overwhelmed? Our team of experts can help you choose the right sound-dampening system to suit your needs.
